Position Overview: The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be a key executive role within Citigroup, responsible for driving the company's technology strategy, innovation, and digital transformation. The CTO will lead the development and execution of technology initiatives that enhance Citigroup’s competitive position, ensure operational excellence, and support the company’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with Citigroup’s business objectives and vision.
    • Provide leadership in identifying and implementing emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure technology initiatives support business growth, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Technology Management:

    • Oversee the architecture, development, and deployment of technology solutions, ensuring they meet the company’s needs for scalability, security, and performance.
    • Lead and manage the technology team, including IT operations, application development, cybersecurity, and infrastructure.
    • Ensure the technology infrastructure supports the company's strategic initiatives and meets regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Innovation and Transformation:

    • Drive digital transformation initiatives to modernize legacy systems and integrate new technologies.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the technology organization.
    • Identify and evaluate new technology trends and opportunities for partnerships or acquisitions.
  • Risk Management and Security:

    • Implement robust cybersecurity measures and risk management practices to protect the company’s data and technology assets.
    • Ensure technology practices comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for technology-related matters with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Communicate technology strategy and initiatives to senior management, board members, and other key stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain relationships with technology vendors, partners, and industry experts.
  • Financial Management:

    • Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
    • Monitor technology investments and assess their impact on business outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, M.S.) preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving large-scale technology initiatives in a global, financial services environment.
    • Experience in managing technology teams, budgets, and complex projects.
    • Demonstrated expertise in areas such as cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
  • Skills:

    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align technology with business goals.
    • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and stakeholders.
    • Deep understanding of financial services industry regulations and technology trends.
