About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Emergency Room (ER) Physician for a full-time opportunity at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver urgent, high-quality medical care to patients with a wide range of critical conditions, including trauma, cardiac emergencies, respiratory failure, and acute illness.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnose patient conditions, and determine appropriate treatments, using state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and technologies.
- Perform emergency procedures such as intubations, suturing, wound care, and resuscitation to stabilize patients and manage their medical emergencies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient outcomes are achieved effectively and efficiently.
- Provide compassionate communication with patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medical conditions, and outcomes.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital and healthcare regulatory standards.
- Assist in managing large-scale emergency situations or mass casualty events while keeping patient care and safety as a top priority.
- Contribute to the ongoing education and training of medical residents, students, and ER staff.
Candidate Requirements:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Active Illinois medical license or ability to obtain one.
- Completion of a recognized Emergency Medicine residency program.
- Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an emergency room setting, with trauma center experience preferred.
- Exceptional communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a commitment to patient care.
