CPA Controller Job Description
About Us:
We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced and dynamic CPA Controller to oversee all financial aspects of our operations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in managing financial processes, overseeing a team, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to strategic decisions such as acquisitions and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial functions.
Ensure the team delivers timely and accurate financial reporting.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to guide decision-making.
Ensure all accounting records and reports are accurate, complete, and in accordance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Acquisitions:
Participate in the financial evaluation of potential acquisitions, providing financial analysis, due diligence, and integration strategies.
Work closely with senior leadership and external partners to assess the financial implications of acquisitions and mergers.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
Monitor and report on budget performance, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Advise management on strategies to optimize cost control, profitability, and cash flow.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Ensure compliance with all financial, regulatory, and tax obligations.
Work with external auditors for year-end audits and tax filings.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and increase efficiency.
Leverage financial systems and technology to automate processes and improve data accuracy.
Strategic Financial Analysis:
Provide ongoing analysis of financial performance, including variance analysis and financial modeling.
Assist in evaluating capital investments and operational strategies to drive business growth.
Qualifications:
CPA designation required.
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
Experience in the IT or tech industry preferred.
Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
Proven experience in managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
Solid understanding of acquisitions and the due diligence process.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to provide actionable financial insights.
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
