Locum Tenens - Wound Care Physician

Overview:
Join a reputable hospital-owned outpatient wound care clinic as a Locum Tenens - Wound Care Physician. In this gratifying role, you will directly impact patient outcomes within a supportive environment that values quality care and professional collaboration. With no inpatient responsibilities and a relaxed patient volume, you will have dedicated time for administrative tasks and charting to ensure a balanced workflow. This opportunity includes a 6-9 month contract with the possibility of extension, providing plenty of scope to make a difference alongside a large primary care team.

Required Skills:

  • Previous experience in wound care, particularly with:
    • Hyperbaric chamber therapy
    • Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT), preferably with Genadyne Wound Vacs
    • Skin grafting procedures
  • Proven ability to oversee and collaboratively work with a team including RNs, WOCNs, and PAs on treatment plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective patient interactions and teamwork

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience in telemedicine or remote consultations
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Additional certifications related to wound care or broader medical specialties

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in a relevant specialty
  • Minimum of 2 years of specialized experience in wound care preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
  • Ability to start within the preferred timeframe and commit to the contract duration
  • Willingness to work collaboratively within a dynamic healthcare environment
