Early Childhood Substitute Teacher

As an Early Childhood Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining a nurturing and engaging classroom atmosphere, whether leading activities or assisting lead teachers. Your flexibility and readiness to adapt will ensure a seamless learning experience for students, all while offering you valuable insight into early childhood education.

Required Skills:

• Related degree or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles
• Ability to manage classroom activities and support student learning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work short-notice assignments within a 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. schedule
• Reliability and professionalism

Nice to Have Skills:

• K-6 teaching certification or experience in classroom management
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Familiarity with early childhood curriculum standards
• CPR and First Aid certification

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field
• Prior experience as a substitute teacher, aide, or in a similar educational setting is a plus

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work flexible hours with short notice
• Must pass background checks and be committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment
• Reliable transportation may be required for assignment locations
